Skinners
Just wondering what peoples opinion of skinners is. Frankie was on jwb and I've swapped him over to skinners. He's on his second small bag, wanted to be sure it was right for him before getting a big bag. He had salmon first and now has duck flavour. Any thoughts?

Re: Skinners
Sorry Mandy this isn't food we have tried Rocky on, I did see it in Jolleys once though and would have considered it when we couldn't get hold of Rocky's usual food. Would be interested to hear peoples views on it.

Re: Skinners
Frankie seems to be doing well on it but would be interesting to see what people think about it

Re: Skinners
It isn't a bad food, but for me the meat percentage is too low and the rice percentage too high.

Re: Skinners
When you look at the ingredients on the bag, the first named ingredient should ideally be meat, although I'm rather surprised to see that James Wellbeloved also has rice (or veg) named as first ingredient!
One example is Fishmongers Finest (Pets at Homes's own fish based dry food) whose ingredients are..
"60% Salmon (Freshly Cooked Salmon 42%, Salmon Meal 12%, Salmon Oil 5%, Salmon Digest 1%), 28% Potato (Potato 14%, Potato Starch 14%), Beet Pulp"

Re: Skinners
He seems to be doing well on skinners but might try something else if it's not particularly good. What's the minimum percentage of meat you would suggest?
