Skinners !!!
I have been doing ALOT of research looking into a new dry food for my girls that would be good for their coats but also help sky stop scratching (she doesn't do it alot but her coat is different to Inca's) and Skinners trial & field Duck & Rice comes up with excellent reviews (drastic improvements in coat condition & reduces or even stops the itching)..
Its alot cheaper than Royal Canins Dermacontrol (which i was also looking at) and Arden Grange (which Inca used to be on b4 i changed her to F4D) and Burns ...
Anyone have any views on Skinners Duck & Rice please..

Re: Skinners !!!
I dont have any experience of it myself but I have seen others recommend it, give it a go and see if they like it.

Success...
I got in touch with Skinners and asked if they could send me some samples of their food as i was considering changing over from F4D ... 2 days later i got 4 big bags (biggest sample bags av ever seen !!) of the Duck & Rice and Salmon & Rice which i tested on my girls and they went more for the Duck & Rice but still liked the Salmony one .
So am gunna be ordering a big bag of the Duck & Rice and slowly introducing into the F4D to make sure it doesn't upset their tummies...

Re: Skinners !!!
I've seen some good reviews about skinners too,so have just ordered a bag myself, fingers crossed as one of mine has very sensitive skin and the other has temperament problems, did use Arden grange which is brilliant but far too expensive for me now

Yeh my girls used to be on Arden Grange aswell but like you say it was getting too expensive and since putting Inca & Sky on Skinners (Duck & Rice) they seem to be a touch calmer and their stools are still AOK but Sky was quite itchy when on Arden Grange, her itching has drastically decreased since going on the Skinners which they both absolutely LOVE...

Re: Skinners !!!
Too many fillers in there for my liking:
Chicken meat meal (30%), whole maize, chicken fat, white rice (10%), oats, maize gluten meal, sunflower meal, whole linseed, beet pulp, whole dried egg,
vitamins, minerals and trace elements, yeast, BIO-MOS™, FOS, yucca.
If you look at Wafcol, the ingredients in there are better than Skinners. Granted its about a fiver more dearer but looks better.

Hiya goldie87... I don't feed Inca & Sky the Skinners puppy food, I give them Skinners Duck & Rice which is Hypoallergenic and if i'm right doesnt have as many fillers !!...
Whole rice (40%), duck meat meal (20%), naked oats, peas, whole linseed, sunflower oil, beet pulp, vitamins and trace elements..

The duck & rice ingredients are much better than the puppy food, but again, the first ingredient is rice, so the food is mainly made up of rice, containing only 20% duck meat meal.. personally, i think thats not enough meat in the food. I could probably bang on about ingredients all day, but if your dogs are doing well on it, thats all that matters, it all depends on what suits them.
