Skinners Food
does anyone have any experiance with it?
Lola has been on Skinners Field and Trial Duck and Rice for 18 months now, (http://www.skinnerspetfoods.co.uk/products/Field---Trial-Products/Duck---Rice/)
i know its not ideal for her, but with my budget its about the best ive been able to find ( i actually pay less than their site states from a local pet supply store)
she doesnt wolf it down, and tends to pick as she goes during the day, but i only ever put down a max of 2 scoops (roughly 300g) a day
she's active, healthy, runs forever and happily walks for hours, is calm and relaxed round the house, and there doesnt appear to be an ounce of fat on her (very lean, but still around 2stone 2 llbs)
am i being a bad owner for feeding her this? or will it be ok

Re: Skinners Food
If its all that you can afford then don't worry about it.
Although it's high in grain, it's one of the best of the budget foods IMO. Miles better than the likes of Wagg and supermarket own brands which cost a similar amount.
Dogs are much better off being lean than overweight. As long as she's not underweight. Have you got any pics of her?
Have a look at this - http://dogs4ppp.files.wordpress.com/2009/07/10-13-fatpets-bcs_chart_dogs.jpg

Re: Skinners Food
Not the best, but definitely not the worst! If she does well on it, then stay with it.
Do you leave her food down all day, then?

Re: Skinners Food
i leave food down all day yes, when she lived with another dog it was gone in minutes or the other dog would eat it, and when i moved here she refused to eat at all for a week or so, so i left food down all the time and its kinda just stayed that way.
best pics i could get from today
ive always been paranoid about her size, but every time i take her to the vets for check ups etc they always say she's a fine size and healthy
