Looks like brown gunk? If so Darcy has this in her right ear and she's recovering from an ear infection

Yes Daisy too, might be worth popping her to the vets to get them checked.

Is it worth giving it a wipe or take her to the vet?

Re: Is lolas ear infected
I can't really tell much from the pics tbh. I have always known when Moo has had an infection as she shakes her head. Her ears always appear dirty, grubby girl! Use warm water and a lump of cotten wool so it just does the outside, very damp and give the inside of her ears a once over.

Yeah its worth giving them a clean and see how she goes, if it comes straight back then go to the vets.
Does it smell a bit funny?

Worth a trip to the vet if she has gunk. Dont want her to start scratching too much! If you see her scratching a lot you may need a collar cone thing

Just damp cotton wool, not a bud just a chunk of cotton wool. Hope that makes sense.Hargar wrote:Janey are you saying that if i wanna clean the inside very damp??? Or not very damp because it not good to do inside.

Re: Is lolas ear infected
wipe it on the outside of the ear (don't dig deep). You just wet the cotton wool down with warm water and squeeze it out so it isn't dripping then wipe from out to in but don't dig in there.

Ya done that. It looked more like dirt than gunk. Ill see how she is over the next few days. She wasnt at her ear atall now head shaking or scratching so it doesnt bother her, and ahe doesnt mind me touching it.

Re: Is lolas ear infected
My labradoodles get sore ears sometimes, they get a bit red but don't bother them too much.
I think you'd know if it was a more serious infection because she'd be in a lot more discomfort and would be shaking her head and scratching. Ear infections reeeeeally smell bad too so that's a good indicator!
