hair shredding
Hi all, Tia is moulting really really bad! I'm constantly hoovering, you are covered in hair even if she just jumps on you! You stroke her she shreds loads! She's never been like this before so its her first time shredding. Anyone know why? Is it a new coat? And how long will it last? I'm not liking having tias hairs in my food! Haha.

Re: hair shredding
Have you put your central heating on recently, Hayley? If you have, then it could be that Tia's coat is thinking wahay, summer again!

Re: hair shredding
My boy is always shedding his hair, he always has done. Sometimes more than other times depending on seasons etc. but like you I am constantly hoovering.
I regularly groom him but it still doesn't make a major difference, I guess it's just the way he is x

Rocky is malting like crazy at the moment due to the change in season, a find a good brush every few days gets rid of most of the unwanted hair, and its always good for theirs coats and skin to get a good brush anyway! Although, my white tiles are COVERED in black fur!!

This made me laugh, can't agree more! Sometimes my kitchen floor resembles a rug more than a tiled floor lol!Maria90 wrote:Although, my white tiles are COVERED in black fur!!

Re: hair shredding
Probably a season change, I always use a furminator on Vinnie and its great for getting out unwanted hair.

Re: hair shredding
Animals dont shed or grow due to heat, its due to light. The nights are darker and mornings too so she will be shedding her summer coat and getting a winter one. Just have to stick it out unfortunately! Try a furminator brush, really good for shedding.

Re: hair shredding
As others have said a good brush through regularly should keep it under control.
