Typical Royal Mail Empty Typical Royal Mail

Post by Guest Tue Sep 24 2013, 18:12

I was expecting two packages from different sellers today, neither of which have arrived and one of which was a live package. The chances of both sellers, completely unrelated to each other, messing up the orders are slim. I was looking out of the window pretty much every half hour to see if the Royal Mail van, which always parks by the front of our house when the postman does his rounds, was there, but it never came.

It wasn't an estimated delivery date either - the date was set specifically for today.

Mum said this has happened before, that they've just not bothered to do one of their rounds. I'm really annoyed about it! I stayed in the living room all day so that I would be able to hear the doorbell, when I really wanted to go back to bed as I wasn't feeling well, and the packages didn't arrive!

I was going to complain, but it wouldn't do any good tbh. They'd just send back a pre-written apology and excuse and be done with it.

The amount we pay for postage you would have thought they could get it right........

On a plus side I needed to post something I have sold and that gave me the reminder!

I have no idea. I'm hoping they'll arrive tomorrow. If not, I definitely will be complaining and I'm not going to settle for a pre-written apology.

I'm mostly disappointed. I was really looking forward to getting the stickies. Means I'm going to have to stay in the living room again tomorrow, when I'd rather just sleep off this stupid illness thingie. The mp3 I can deal with; it's just a music player, so it doesn't matter if I get it a bit later.

Hopefully it'll arrive early tomorrow so I can hop back into bed afterwards. Smile

Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad I've been waiting for hours for the postman to come by. The doorbell rang about 15/20 minutes ago and I stuck my head out of the window (there's a shop below the front part of our house, so we need to go all the way around and let the postman know that we're coming down). The shop has put up a bloody canopy thing though, so I couldn't see the postman and obviously he couldn't hear me calling out. I ran downstairs, but by the time I got down there, he was gone. No card left or anything. Sad

There was a woman standing literally ten metres away as well and she saw me up at the window. Wouldn't have killed her just to let the postman know I was there.

Have you tried phoning your local sorting office, they should know if it will be delivered today. Let them know what happened earlier and that you haven't received a missed delivery note although the postman was there.

Post by Guest Wed Sep 25 2013, 17:00

Mum checked the post box earlier and there were two cards in there for missed deliveries, which I can't figure out, as one didn't have a time and the other said 1:00, which was 15/20 minutes after the doorbell rang and I was back in the house at that time, so I would have heard the bell ring again.

Turns out from an email I got a couple of hours ago that one of the packages was dispatched today, when it was actually supposed to arrive yesterday.

I'm going to send an email to the company I got the stickies from to see if they've been dispatched yet.

Sad

No, not yet Sad I emailed the company who sent them and they verified the address, then said it can take 1-3 working days, so if it hasn't arrived by tomorrow, I should contact the sorting office.

Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin The eggs look like tiny little poos! I paid for five eggs, but they've sent an extra three in case a couple don't hatch. They're all settled in their enclosure now! Had a bit of trouble with a runaway egg, who decided to roll off of the side of the paper towel, so I had to take the paper towel back out of the enclosure so that I could put the egg back on top. Some people keep little potted plants of ivy in the enclosure so that they don't have to keep cutting sprigs.

Yep, the little eggs are chilling on a piece of paper towel in their enclosure! Big Grin I can't wait until they hatch!

When I emailed the company I bought them from, they were actually really nice and seemed genuinely concerned about the wellbeing of the stickies. Smile

Can't say as much for the mp3 player - doesn't work properly, downloaded over 1000 songs onto it and only 130 actually registered on the mp3, looks nothing like the picture. Also, the headphone socket is tiny! Way too small for any normal iPod-type headphones. They sent a free pair of earphones with the mp3, but they were already broken when they arrived! Surprised

Guess who's demanding a refund. Tongues
