Is he aggressive?
Rio is 22 weeks and is beginning to loose some teeth but now and again he is biting us, growling and barking at both myself and my partner! We have tried shouting no, ignoring him and making a loud noise! I'm really struggling at the moment I love rio to bits but need some help please!

Re: Is he aggressive?
He's a puppy, still a baby, and like all puppies all he wants to do when he's not eating or sleeping is play!
Puppies, like human babies, explore and play with their mouths. He is not too old to learn bite inhibition (which is started when they are still in the nest with their siblings and mum). When his teeth start to hurt when you are playing with him, give a high pitched yelp (not a human shout which might scare and puzzle him) and turn away from him for a minute or two. This is what his siblings and mum would do. Then play with him again, but giving him something like rope chewy/tuggy or a stag bar (deer antler) to bite on as his teeth are probably hurting him as he loses his puppy teeth.
The growling and barking are more than likely his invitations (demands? ) to play. He is far too young to be naturally aggressive so please don't be scared of him or shout at him.
Puppies are hard work (cute as they are) and need lots of interaction and entertaining when they are awake. However, a few minutes of vigorous play (like chasing an empty plastic bottle up and down the room when you throw it) will satisfy him - for a while!
I'm assuming that he also gets regular walks of 5 minutes per month of his age.

Aww I remember those puppy Teeth with tears in my eyes those teeth hurt, but he's still very much a baby, keep being firm with him and he'll learn what's acceptable and I promise it does get easier

Re: Is he aggressive?
If the biting continues rollbup a tea towel soak it and freeze it so he can bite it and coldness will help numb his gums for a short while im going through the same with my pup diesel

Re: Is he aggressive?
What Lynda says above is so true - don't worry, all normal Lola was a bit more gentle than Chloe, so when Chloe began that stage, we did worry a bit about what we were doing wrong. She's now 17 months and is calming down. Lots of the same commands (feels like over and over and over!) but they're just like babies/toddlers and want to play, and that's the way they express themselves.
