This will probably be very unpopular but I really do not support this for various reasons.. it's The Sun. They publish such bullsh*t at the best of times and this is just yet another spin on something that they know nothing about. I work in rescue, I work tirelessly day and night to rehome abandoned dogs, but these dogs just are not rehomeable, to even the very most experienced homes! It really sucks, but it's just the reality of it It's not the sniffer dogs that are being pts, many of them are rehomed successfully. It's the dogs that have been trained for years to attack forcefully and often brutally.. most probably suffering from ptsd!

I will not sign for the same reasons as Rachel. I'm not offended that the dogs who protected the royals were killed, frankly protecting royals should not get any animal special status. They should all be treated the same. In a rainbow world the retired attack dogs would be all rehomed but they can't be, id rather them be pts than live the rest of their lives in a kennel block not being used (after already living their entire life in a kennel!!)

Fair point Rachel/Hayley, most of us haven't seen that side of the dogs and had to deal with it like you two. It's just the thought of putting all these dogs to sleep that gets to me.

Sometimes pts is better for them. There is no life in kennels and a dog retired at 7/8 has a long time in kennels not working..also that means no new dogs can come in until it dies so there would be no working dogs. Some handlers take the dogs home when they retire, but they can't take on dog after dog unfortunately.
