I've seen these petitions before and signed them. I don't really understand, I'm nearly certain I've signed this one before and it said the deadline was ages ago

At the same time though it doesn't hurt to re-sign.

Re: Please sign if you have not already done so (E Petition)
I signed this a while ago.
But the government have already stated that there are no plans for the Stafford to be added to the dangerous dogs list in the UK.

Re: Please sign if you have not already done so (E Petition)
there about 1000 of these on facebook i'm shock they keep allowing to keep making them....
Re: Please sign if you have not already done so (E Petition)
call me cynical, but you need 100,000 plus signatures to even stand a chance of being considerd for a debate. Thus the more of them about the less chance one individual petition has of reaching its goal. clever at being lazy these guys are.Steve wrote:there about 1000 of these on facebook i'm shock they keep allowing to keep making them....

Re: Please sign if you have not already done so (E Petition)
do you know what makes me laugh!
a little yappy yorkie thing that couldnt see through its fur ran up to ramsey the other day and bit him several times while ramsey sort of just stood there. if it was the other way around he'd be done for it.
Its a joke!!

A farmer I buy from has the most aggressive dog I've ever seen and it's a Border Collie. He has a MASSIVE warning sign on his gate for him. It even attacked my car. All dogs can be very dangerous in cases. But as Caryll says, it'll never happen thankfully.

This kind of thing annoys me so much!
I was walking Milton the other day, on his lead, along our lane. Went past a house down the far end and a Labrador ran out through the open gate and started pestering Milton, who was doing his best to ignore it. Woman came out of the house and told me to control my dog! Yeah, he's perfectly under control, thanks, unlike your dog which is being left to roam around on its own right by a main road. And it was the Lab that was running around with its hackles and tail up and baring its teeth...

Of the four banned breeds I wouldn't consider any of them "dangerous" in the right hands. My opinions of the banned breeds are that with the exception of the fila brasileiro (if that's how it's spelt) none of them are naturally a danger to humans, and I'm not saying the Fila is dangerous but one of it's purposes was chasing down slaves and holding them by the neck, in the right hands it may be a good dog I don't know. If pitbulls are anything like the pitbull "types" in terms of temprement I'd say they're no more dangerous than a Staffy, I'd gladly own and walk around with a Japanese tosa and I doubt a copper would even look twice at one, pretty sure they'd assume it was just a great dane cross and the dogo argentino looks like a pitbull that powerlifts and takes steroids, notibly 3 of the 4 banned breeds are known for their good temprement and are deemed suitable around children, I believe one of them is also suitable to be homed with other pets.

Re: Please sign if you have not already done so (E Petition)
Rebecca-The info I gave is what I can remember from researching them before I got Stig, as I'd considered a pitbull type dog but decided against it because if something bad was to happen I'd have the "I told you so" brigade on my back. It's not necceserily accurate as I used google and forums to get the info on them so some of it could be wrong, but yes an interesting subject to look into none the less, I was in a way pleased I had read up on them but also angered at the fact I could never own any of these dogs because a few fell into the wrong hands.

to the from what i know which aint alot, you get people saying they should lift the ban....but to me it should be kept were it is as it just stops idiots ruining them if you get me. its the same as the staff, its idiots who give them a bad name.
Will read up when i get the chance, i did the same with pitbulls read both sides of the stories and its just another lovely breed that went into the wrong hands
