staffy appearance
First topic message reminder :
Hi,im new here and ive owned 2 staffies in the past. Both have now sadly passed away.I know im biased but my two were beautiful looking dogs with "bear" like faces and not the wide faces with poppy eyes.I dont mean to offend anyone but im looking at bringing another staff into our family and want a puppy from a reputable breeder who knows what i mean.sorry for babbling and hope i make sense xx emma

Re: staffy appearance
I would say your best bet is to rescue a 6-12 month old dog. Still young enough to train easily and grow up with your kids but u will be able to look at hundres litterally until u find an appearance & temperment that suits u and your family. Plus the shelter will have fully tested each dog with very thing possible, cats, livestock, kids young and old etc etc to match suitability. Often a rescue can suit a family more than a puppy, there are no garantees a rescue will work in your home but if it doesnt it will always have a place at the centre. There are no garantees a pup u buy will be good with your kids or grow up to look as u obviously want it to and what will u do with it then?! I would defo go for a rescue......good luck x

I've always had a really soft spot for the longer nosed, more 'terrier' type staff - mainly, I think, because that's all I've ever had!

That's so silly, that's why BSL makes absolutely no sense. AmStaffs and APBTs are pretty much the exact same dog. They can both be called Pit Bulls. Here in the US, some dogs are dual registered as APBTs in the UKC and AmStaffs in the AKC because the dogs are so similar (if not, the exact same dog).
