Aww Barnibus is just so handsome! Don't worry I feel exactly the same way, they are like our kids!!! I always worry, even if its for half an hour to get bread and milk, I worry if he is okay, or what he is doing! If he is with your mum then he is definitely fine!! Try not to stress too much! xx

It's OK to worry it shows how much you care. But it is also good for both you and Barnibus to have some time apart. If he is in good hands with your mum, try to relax and enjoy yourself and think how good it feels when you are reunited. You obviously love each other very much.

Definitely know how you feel but I'm thinking Ledger quite likes it when I'm not there to disturb his sleep and he can have the best spot on the sofa
Getting nervous already as on the 6th Sept he goes off for a Barking Mad foster holiday placement for 10days sure he will be fine but will be weird not being able to call and check up on him like if he was with family

Re: does anyone else feel this way
I'm sure most of us would feel like this at some point or another. I know I miss Rocky when my hubby takes him out for a walk on his own, although this doesn't happen very often.

Aww don't worry we all feel like that at some point, Axl is my baby and I always miss him when I have to go to work. If my dog walker friend doesn't pick him up before I go to work I constantly text him to make sure he's picked him up and Axl is okay.. I drive him crazy lol!

I think it would be good for you to go. He'll be okay!
I do understand why you get upset though; sounds like you're very attached to him.

Re: does anyone else feel this way
I just want to hug and squeeze his squidgy little face so I can understand why you feel like that. Don't worry though dog's don't have much of a concept of time passing, he will know you have been away but won't really understand how long for. I feel guilty when I have to leave my pooches too but think how nice it is for your granddad to have you there.
Barnabus will be fine its not like he's completely alone. He has someone with him xxx

We all get that about our babies. It does them good to socialise with other people plus she is your Mum so she will look after him

Re: does anyone else feel this way
Do you do any training classes with him , it's an excellent way of developing that bond whilst letting him know that you are clearly the one in charge , it also works wonders on developing his confidence with the rest of the world and give peace of mind

Re: does anyone else feel this way
I think you need to get out more on your own. Your own seperation anxiety will make him a hell of a lot to handle. Staffies are not pampered poodles, they are rough and ready and need firm consistent handling or they are a nightmare to live with.

Re: does anyone else feel this way
Did you go yesterday?
I definitely think it's something that should be worked on, for the sake of both you and Barnibus. Sometimes it's better just to take the plunge and get yourself out there. You might worry at first, but the more you do it, the easier it will become and you'll be able to realise that nothing bad is going to happen to Barnibus just because you're not with him 24/7.

Re: does anyone else feel this way
That's why I think it would benefit both of you to gradually start spending some time away. It doesn't need to be for hours - five minutes at a time would be a good starting point.

This link might help:
http://staffy-bull-terrier.com/separation_anxiety
In this case, I think you also get separation anxiety when you're away from Barnibus, so the tips in that link will hopefully help you as well.
If you don't have one already, it might be a good idea for you to get Barnibus a crate, as mentioned in the link. This isn't to lock him away, but rather to provide him with a safe, secure place when you're not around. Crating very often helps with separation anxiety.

Re: does anyone else feel this way
I'll be honest no i don't feel like that, I'm happy to go out and leave the boys for a while and they get time to their self to potter about and chill.
Do i miss them? yer course, so they miss me? well as much as making a nest out of our bed they do
Time away from Barnibus will do you both some good, a clingy too dependent dog is not healthy for either of you.
