Feel very sad....
Lily is going for her necessary spaying tomorrow and I'm a nervous wreck I can't stop worrying about her even though she is having keyhole which is supposed to be less traumatic for them. I know I wont sleep tonight

Re: Feel very sad....
Plenty of TLC when she comes home & she'll be fine before you know it!
The hardest part will be keeping her quiet for a while!

Re: Feel very sad....
She will be perfectly fine it's so routine hardly anything goes wrong. She will just be groggy after and need peace and quiet and a warm bed. No jumping aloud! Also the incision will be small and horrible looking but that's normal too!

Keep us posted. It is always frightening to take one of the four leg children in for surgury. She will be fine though.

Always hard not to worry but she will be fine. Best of luck keeping her quiet and resting afterwards.

Re: Feel very sad....
Please try not to worry she really will be fine, modern veterinary practices have come a very long way since even 20 years ago and the anaesthetics they use now are much improved too. Patients dont have that groggy, sicky feeling for as long either, the same with us really.
The problem will be , as already stated, trying to keep her still for 5 minutes. Maybe you could have a think about ways of doing this.

Re: Feel very sad....
I dropped her off this morning - house seems very quiet. I'm sure you're all right about her - I'm such a wimp! A couple of days down the line and I'll probably be wondering what all the fuss was about

Re: Feel very sad....
When she gets home she'll probably be a bit miserable & will whine a bit. It won't be because she's in pain, it'll be because she's groggy & confused.
By tomorrow morning she'll be back to being a pain in the backside!

Try to keep yourself occupied until you pick her up so you're not worrying. She'll be absolutely fine. Give her big hugs from all of us when she gets home. Good luck keeping her quiet for the next few days!

That's good to know, I would have thought she was in pain

Re: Feel very sad....
She'll have strong painkillers, plus the anaesthetic won't have worn off completely so she won't be in pain unless she knocks the wound.
She'll be right as rain before you know it!
