Sharing toys!
Quick query...
When Watson has a toy Moll always goes to take it off him, now in the main Watson drops the toy and she takes it but very occasionally (before generally dropping the toy) he will give a tincy growl. Is this okay? Its like he is trying to say 'its mine okay, leave me alone' but he always goes on to drop it and have some attention from me or my oh.
Should I intervene and remove the toy if he ever growls?

Showing displeasure but not following up with any aggressive behaviour shows a well balanced dog. How many times have you come out with an involuntary expletive when something has gone wrong only to hold your composure? Its just what the dog is doing. Be proud mate

Re: Sharing toys!
Thank you Nathan! Just wanted to check. I completely agree with the above, just needed someone else's opinion to confirm I wasn't doing anything wrong.

Re: Sharing toys!
Our 4 always want the same thing
Almost always the pup gets his own way. I say almost, cos every now and then one of the others wants it more
Growling is a way of communication for dogs, they can't talk. There are different types of growl, from a ickle grumble to a full on snarl. We don't get many snarls with these 4, and if we do then that's when we stop play

Re: Sharing toys!
My two are also the same, but do also remember that generally one dog will always be slightly dominant over the other, so although Watson is growling to acknowledge his annoyance, he is also being submissive to the Moll by dropping the toy. All perfectly normal and healthy!
