Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
Bruno's not well again, he has got watery diarrhea, he has had 4 bouts of it. I didn't know whether to feed him or not, so i gave him a handful this morning and it stayed in, gave him another handful lunchtime but its all come out
Trying not to go into worry head panic situation. But at the moment i am not going to feed him anymore today and leave plenty of water down for him He only seems to do it after he's been fed and he's been on the same food for about 4 weeks now,so it can't be the food.
Yesterday i took him up on the main road so that was new that was early morning, then rest of the day he was sleeping, eating and playing late afternoon he did a poo which ended up a bit diarrheary then just at 6pm after his dinner, omg he farted in the kitchen and it went everywhere, then about another 2 or 3 hours he done another load, and a load during the night which he managed to get some under our freezers which i have cleared up. then he had breakfast then lunch at 12pm and now it is all come out, sorry for so much info.
I leave about 6 hours between his feeds.
Any advice ? would be grateful

Re: Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
You may be better starving him for the rest of the day, then buying some chicken breast and long grain rice, cook the chicken in plain water and cook the rice till soft, wait for it to go cold, then chop chicken up and mix with some rice, keep him on this diet until his poo's are solid again, then slowly re-introduce his usual food with the chicken & rice until he's back just on his normal food.
Poor Bruno and poor you, it's not nice cleaning it up is it?

Re: Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
Been going through the same thing with Moo for about a year now!!!
Firstly have him checked out so you can count out anything medical, which I have had done, nothing showed with her, then I had to trial and error on foods which has helped to a degree but she still continues to have the runs
I would try starving him, I think I had too anyway before her tests. Poor Bruno its not nice and poor you cleaning it up, it does go everywhere, unfourtunatly all over cream carpets isn't the easiest to clear up
Good luck at the vets and let us know.

Re: Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
hope dear little Bruno gets on okay at the vets and they can help you all.
I have heard rice and pasta is good to feed doggies with the trots as it binds them up.

Thank you Everyone
I'll have a look at that site , thank you debbie
Janey - Think she will give us some Pro-Kolin that binds it up within 2 or 3 days worked last time, i wish they could just give me the stuff without seeing the vet

Re: Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
Hi, we had a similar thing with Sophie who had an upset tummy at about three and a half months. The vet prescribed Pro Kolin which didn't seem to help. He followed it up with antibiotics.
She was originally eating Wainrights puppy food but the vet advised us not to starve her for more than half a day because she was so young.
The antibiotics did the trick and we were advised to give her chicken and rice for the next few days and change her onto Chappie permanently. Vet also said we could moisten it up a bit with some gravy which will keep her hydrated as she is not a great drinker.
She now has a diet of half and half Chappie and Butchers puppy (both canned) with a drop of weak gravy and she is now five and a half months and apart from that short episode her tummy is perfect.
Hope Bruno feels better soon.

Re: Looks Like We're Off To The Vets Again
Have you tried arrowroot and honey, there is a thread on here "How to examine a dog?" on how much to mix etc, just an idea. Here's wishing Bruno a speddy recovery.
