Skibadee is a murderer...
Of all my dogs Skibadee has the highest prey drive. I can't let her near small furries or even see them, when I take her to see the horses she constantly hunts rats, and I can't trust her with my chickens because she always has that 'glint' in her eye.
Well last night me and my friend who owns Tali's sister took all four girls out for a beautiful walk. When we got to the track I let them all off the lead and they usually go off to do their business having been in the garden/house all day. So I wasn't too concerned when they went ahead as when I call them they all come thundering back, well Skibadee wasn't with the clan so I thought she must be doing a poop and got my little bag at the ready! Walked round the corner and I could see her chewing something. I said to my friend 'Oh its ok there she is shes got a stick for us to play with'. As we got closer I noticed that 'the stick' was very brightly coloured and moving. Horrible little bugger had only killed a HUGE male pheasant, by the time we got there (all of 20 seconds) it was dead and had been stripped of most of its feathers!
I took it off her and told her no, then tried to get her involved with the other dogs who were swimming in lake, she was having none of it and kept trying to slyly sneak off so she could eat her 'prize'! The other dogs clearly thought she was mad and wouldn't go near the bird.
Funny thing there wasn't a mark on it she must have just broken the neck. I was shocked, little murderer!

Re: Skibadee is a murderer...
Molly saw a rabbit recently on a walk, cocked her head to one side, took a moment then trotted on! Rather low prey drive! I would def have taken the bird home for food!

To be fair DAF have recently been doing lots of game minces and I have been getting them pheasant! So she probably smelled something she recognised as DINNER! I don't eat many meats and would have been too squeamish to pluck it! I don't even eat my chickens when they stop laying eggs. I should have just let her have it really would have saved me feeding her

She was just being a good hunterer is all
Chiquito likes to stand and stalk the bush turkeys here, would be like to run the other way if it actually made a noise though
