Hello staffy-bull-terrier members and welcome to August 2013.

We would like to extend a very warm welcome to all our new members who have joined in the last month. The forum continues to grow and July 2013 saw us reach yet another milestone, 12,000 members. We are always trying to improve the forum and website so if you have any suggestions please don’t hesitate to put them forward here https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/c25-feedback-suggestions-thanks-forum.

Two recent additions to the forum are the link exchange http://www.staffy-bull-terrier.com/submit/links.php#addlink and guestbook http://www.staffy-bull-terrier.com/staffy/gbook.php?a=sign, if you have not yet signed the guestbook please do. The link exchange is an opportunity for members with their own website’s to add them onto the forum. In exchange, all we ask is that you add a link to our website on yours. We are offering you free advertising so don’t miss out!

Our UK members have been experiencing the longest period of hot weather for 7 years so we’d like to take this opportunity for a recap on caring for your dog in hot weather. Firstly, avoid walking at the hottest time of the day and limit high impact activity, pay attention to the ground temperature which can become very hot in direct sunlight (remember your pooch doesn't have shoes to protect it like you do!) and always take water with you on walks. Around the home and garden ensure they have access to fresh drinking water, are kept in well ventilated areas and have access to shade. Finally, but very importantly, never leave your dog in a car on a hot day, it can be fatal in minutes.
