Barking mad !!
hi all was just wondering if anybody else has bother with barking its constant when she's in the garden and people walk by she starts and sometimes scares the life out of people , also in the house she starts barking in the morning like half 6 and wont stop till we get up then when ur up she has a cheek to go back to sleep she doesnt even want the loo any ideas would be a great help .

hi yeah most of the time there somebody when i try to talk to her to behave its like she in another planet not like in the house where she will listen

Ok. When you're with her in the garden & she barks, squeak a toy or show her a treat & say "Quiet" (or whatever word you want to use). The second she stops barking to look at the treat/toy, you give it to her.
If you do that every time, she'll soon learn that the word Quiet means stop barking & you'll get a treat!

Ledger barks for attention when we are out and my focus isn't 100% on him for us it's a fine line between rewarding the behaviour because whatever is said by me he gets the attention back on him
May sound odd but at obedience we were encouraged to teach them to bark on command to help with the subsequent 'quiet' training

Great advice from Caryll, I am lucky Vin isn't a big barker, anyone could come in and he wouldn't bother!
