Milk?
Does anyone know how much you could/should give your dog please? My two love ice-cold semi-skimmed milk with a few markies in it (milk and cookies!!!).

Re: Milk?
I wouldn't give a dog cows milk, not good for them.

Re: Milk?
All my dogs have enjoyed milk. I give Harry some Milk mixed with cold water every day. But dogs are generally lactose intolerant. This gives
them gas and the runs, but if your dogs didn't have this reaction after
drinking the milk you have already given them, then it would be ok to
give small amounts. Ice-cream can have the same problem but yoghurt
and cheese do not have the same level of lactose in them.

Re: Milk?
I wouldn't give any more than the barest minimum as a special treat - and even then some dogs can react very badly to it!
You can give small amounts of goats milk (lower lactose content) or lactose free milk, though, but I still wouldn't give too much of it.

Re: Milk?
I always gave my puppies a breakfast of Weetabix, beaten up egg and milk.
Kuchar has been the only dog who retained the taste for it, and sometimes if I can't eat all my own Weetabix and milk brekkie, I give in to his pleading eyes and give him the bit that remains. I know I shouldn't though cos a later poo is often on the loose side.

Gosh never knew that, thank you! It's never had any adverse effects on them though, thank goodness! Shame it's bad for them

Re: Milk?
Chiquito has lactose free puppachinos every now and then (especially on those really cold mornings!) and rather enjoys them
Some dogs are very sensitive to lactose, others are more tolerant of it .. generally speaking though cows milk is a no-no. As said above, you can buy specific milk (which is lactose free) for puppies/dogs which might work with their cookies

Re: Milk?
I'm lucky with Katy, she loves her Weetabix with skimmed milk ever since she was tiny with no adverse reactions
