Hi all.

Skye is almost 7months old and is having her first season. She has taken to chewing everything in sight. Is this normal behaviour. Ive never known her to be like this. Thanks x

I dont think chewing everything has anything to do with her being in season...its completley normal behaviour for a staff to want to chew anything and everything. Its a long phase they go through, but can be controlled. Everytime you see her chew something thats not hers, take her away from it and give her something she is aloud to chew on, she will soon learn whats hers and whats not.

Make sure she cant get any dangerous objects: glasses, tablets etc

Shes probably a little hormonal and can't understand why shes feeling that way. Whatever you did when she was a pup re chewing, try it again now and she will click that it is still a bad behaviour!

Sorry im not sure why this posted twice. She got over her chewing but has started again worse than ever so I can only put it down to hormones. I can't even leave her for ten minutes without her destroying something. I hope it stops soon :-)

The hormones from being in season can definitely make them behave differently, my mums bitch is very strange when she's in season!
