NHS making foreigners pay
As far as i understand it it will charge people who move here from other countries for their hospital costs.
This is what nearly every other country in the world does.

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
about bloody time did you know people come here becasue they cant afford treatment in their country grrrrr they come here claiming everything they can then go back home !!!
Re: NHS making foreigners pay
If they're working here and paying taxes etc, I don't see why they should pay.
If they're dole dossers then yeah, definitely the right thing to do.

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
Most of them come here goldie to get a job for a few months then get a sick line and end up on the dole and getting disability benefits. They pay tax for a few months! I think you need to have been paying tax for at least 10 years before you are allowed free treatment.

Good point, should definitely have a minimum term of working.

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
Other EU citizens can use our NHS just as we can use theirs, but I do think it's a cheek for people outside the EU to get free treatment.

I totally agree with you! All the more reason for us to come out of the EU!

But it remains fact that we do have access to their free healthcare services and wouldn't want it taken away as could be valuable one day .
However £200 charge to these outsiders is ridiculous and they should be paying full fees as if someone were private

????? Me no understand . All EU countries have certain free services , you would have to check individual countries as to what they are but if you have an EHIC card then you are entitled to whatever is free in that country , fortunately for ma never had to find out . Only ever been ill abroad needing healthcare once when I was away training in Germany and I was taken care of by the company

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
alchoholics are the worse, they pay nothing into the system and take take take. they lost a patient once only to find him back in his bed cuddling a large bottle of cider that was while all the staff was out looking for him including the police as they have to respond to a missing patient.she got bitten and spat at and worst thing was just before we got married she got a needle stick injury from a hiv positive patiant and had to take alot of nasty drugs, i loved her more than the world and would have curled up and died with her should it have taken that but she came through negative and we had a good go at it. she is now my best mate and sadley the marrage didnt work but i still love her to bits for what she does. she deals with death and pain day in day out but still has time for me and my pitifull problems bless her

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
I don't like people taking away the chance to have health care. I think it's the worst thing about the states. We just gonna leave them to die in corridors until someone foots the bill? I would much prefare we used the time and money to prevent people who are coming just to sponge off the system in

Re: NHS making foreigners pay
Think everyone who is present in the country at the time of illness should get it. How about we take the money from the politicians 2nd home to pay for it.
What do we all suggest happens when someone is dying in a hospital? Save them?
Leave them to die in the corridor until payment is recieved?
Or save them then get a debt collecting firm in to recover when people haven't paid?
