Allergies?
Weve just been through loads of fields all off lead, he loves running through high grass which I think may have caused the redness, but ive never seen all these spots before They look like theyve got little white heads on them as well. It goes from his neck right to his back legs. I cant see any under his coat at the top of his body. No itching. Ive already given him a piriton to see if it helps. Any other ideas? He's ok in himself no irritation what so ever.

Re: Allergies?
You may also want to try wiping him down with a damp cloth this may also help to soothe the rash

Re: Allergies?
Was there any stinging nettles looks like a rash we get when stung by them. Sure the piriton will ease it.

Re: Allergies?
He looks even more adorable now he's sleeping
He loved the place I took him too this morning and wanted to go back again tonight, du think this is a good idea if the rash has gone down by then? Or am I just being cruel

Re: Allergies?
Is this the first time you went to those particular fields? Not to sure if its a good idea or not, if it flares up again after going back then your sure to know it was from all the long grass, if he doesn't seem to fazed by it and its not giving him any irritation and goes down I think it should be fine, but I wouldn't take my word for it.

Re: Allergies?
Its not the first time weve been to that field. I think if its all clear by tonight we will go back, if it flares up again then ill give it a miss in the future. He loves running through the crops as well and he comes out in scratches all over but never seemes fazed by it. Thanks Maria

Re: Allergies?
We got something very similar with Tommy but only round his groin after long grass and it cleared up by itself

Re: Allergies?
Well the spots have all gone but now he's peeling really bad! Ive been putting aqueous cream on him to help.
KarenGoodall - Try giving your pooch an antihistamine and wipe Colin down with a damp towel to get rid of any pollen/seeds etc. Sooth any redness with Sudocreme.

Re: Allergies?
Hi Kita90, thanks tried doing that and it doesn't seem to be getting any worse, but not getting any better either... favourite game at the minute is to drag himself along the carpet. Going to take him back to the vets so they can look at him.... we cut the grass at the weekend, I'm wondering if that it what has done it or if it is a reaction to the Comfortis as it made him sick.

Re: Allergies?
Comfortis? Isnt that a flea treatment?
It has taken a good 4/5 days to clear up mind, I just carried on with the aqueous cream every morning and night, I kept it in the fridge as well to help sooth any pain/itching.
If he's dragging himself along the carpet then somethings not quite right. Vets sounds like a good idea. Keep us posted

Re: Allergies?
Our dog has a rash when taking her on walks through long grass, we cover her in sudocrem (vet said this was ok) making sure she stays on her blanket.
