Weight?

Hi all,
We weighed Otis the other day to find that he now weighs in at 16.3Kg!! He is now 9 months old, would you say this is okay? I personally wouldn't say he was fat but he is full of muscle, I will post some pictures if anybody thinks this would help

The standard for male staffies is 12.7-17kg. He might go slightly over that, but he could just be a particularly bulky staffy - it varies per dog.
You know him best, so you should be able to tell if you think he's overweight. By all means, post pictures. But from what I've seen, he's a good weight.

I wouldn't worry too much about his weight as long as he isn't fat or skinny!

Very good No worries then, it just shocked me as we hadn't weighed him in a while and I just wondered if for his age it was okay and I know he still has a lot more filling out to do.

Don't worry so much about his weight, as long as he's in proportion and not overweight then it's all good My harvey weighs about 23kg

As long as he doesn't look fat I'd say he's OK, I always go on sight rather than weight!

I have heard it said that muscle weighs heavier than fat - don't know how true that is! The main thing is that you can feel the ribs and that the dog has a tuck-up; then he's not fat!

PS- go by how he looks rather than his weight! As long as he is not fat and not skinny..it seems like he is just a solid stocky boy! Gwen will be 7 months old soon..she weighs 30 pounds (about 13 kg) already! But she looks perfectly proportional!

Echoing what everyone has said above, I wouldn't worry to much about weight so long as Otis is happy and healthy and looks the right size/shape for him

As ive heard from everyone here, I would go by how Otis looks! Rocky is 5 months and weighs 15kgs and he looks fine! Every dog is different
