Just when you think you've got everything sorted
Well, was feeling quite smug about how well behaved my dog was and what a dream she was when, and how friendly she was with other dogs, when, a very excitable border terrier came running over and Tash jumped on his back and did the lovely sounding staffie growl. Well I removed her straight away with no problems and the dog was no worse for his ordeal indeed kept on coming back for more. Tash continued to growl and I told her no (in no uncertain terms). The dog was fine, the owner was fine, the only one who wasn't was me.
Now I have noticed that Tash is not keen on pesty dogs or dogs that are very boundy so I think this might have been a bit of the problem. Also she has just come out of season and had a very nasty experience on a walk in season (she was on the lead) when a border terrier cross came running from nowhere and tried to have his wicked way with her and she was terrified. The next time she saw a border terrier was just after season we were playing ball and this same dog came running from nowhere and tried to play, Tash didn't want to know and told him where to go but it took him a long time to get the message and the owner was useless.
Do I need to worry or do you think she was just dominating this dog to put him in his place, she has met other dogs today no problem, except im a nervous wreck.

Don't worry Jules like humans we don't like everyone, and I do think a dog can dislike certain breeds also. Moo can have a growl at some if they pester her, and she has a complete dislike of Boxers. She also had a bad experience when in season. They can also be vocal when playing.
Don't be worried as she will feel your tension also Xx

I know and she met a little chiuhaha (cant spell) today so its not like she has a preference for bullying little dogs, just think when you own a staffie you want them to be perfect because of their bad reputation

I agree with Janey dogs are a bit like us and are not going to get on with every other dog they see, Rocky doesn't like boxers either despite his name.

Same here Vinnie doesn't much like Jack Russells but again every one we see they always snap at him. Thankfully Vinnie just looks at them as if to say "what the hell is all that about!" Don't worry too much:D

Darcy likes some dogs and not others, just like us they don't like every pooch they meet try to pre-empt the signs and you'll be fine. The link may help

Dogs have their sympathies like humans have. When Jess doesn't like someone become still like stone so I know it's better go
If I were you I would be more worried if she accepted every attention from every dog whatsoever

thanks, she is an awesome dog, think I tend to over-react when she does anything that isn't good, but then i don't think that's necessarily a bad thing xxx
