Millys Results
Took Milly to te vet's yesterday for some more test re the scratching which is still goin on after numerous creams potions etc the vet took more scrapes etc it was puzzling the vet as to why all the previous test were clear but she was still scratching just under her armpits which were becoming really raw and sore. While she was checking Milly I just mentioned something I had read on the forum months ago about bacterial/yeast infections, she just looked at me and said yeast why have I not looked at that so she took a swab and said it would need to culture overnight and to ring back today for results . Rang back today for results and guess wot guys she has a yeast infection under her armpits so she is on tablets for 8 days and she got a special shampoo that she has to be washed in under her pits twice a week. The vet was so impressed she asked for the website address.
I bathed her as soon as i got in and gave her the tablets and I am not tempting fate and please please say it is working but she has not scratched yet which is amazing given how much she was before.
So i just cannot thank the forum enough

I do Janey it is depressing me cos I know she is so down. We go on Monday at 9 for a consultation for about a hour and then they will take it from there, but she is getting a little bald patch on the head now but my vet said there is no mites so do not know what to think at the mo.

Re: Millys Results
I went through a similar thing with Scrumpy, she had numerous skin scraps and was nearly bald and they never found anything but treated her for demodex, she remained a very bald itchy pup and gradually she just grew out of it after a few months. Not saying Milly will, well she will eventually but I know how infuriating it is and also upsetting. They will sort it though. Good luck for Monday

Re: Millys Results
my freinds dog was a little bit like that they couldnt find out what it was and in the end it was a hormonal inbalance and she would scratch and get numerous bald patches before every season. Hope the mystery is soon solved for poor baby millie

Re: Millys Results
memphis had a bald patch on his head and his tail from an early age vet tested for demodex which came back clear to be told they are areas where glands are and he will grow out ov it and leave it alone and he is aswell
