Had to go on stupid detox :(
First topic message reminder :
I've had a really bad stomach for a month (maybe slightly over) and I think we've finally figured out that I'm probably fat intolerant. Up until recently, I'd had little to no real fat in my diet for over a year. Recently I've started eating a little more and it seems like my stomach plays up after I eat stuff like butter, cheese and birthday cake. I know I'm not lactose intolerant, as I'm fine with milk and low-fat cheese.
I've been okay for most of this week, but I had a bad stomach the day after my birthday - when I'd eaten birthday cake. After that passed, I was fine for another couple of days. Then I had cheese with my dinner, then more cheese the next day in a sandwich, and got another bad tummy.
So I've been snacking on Water Crackers for 24 hours and I feel fine now. Going to start gradually reintroducing food groups to make sure.
I've been falling apart lately!

You've done the right thing in going to the doc's, Eleanor. How did you get on? Hope you're feeling better today ><

Re: Had to go on stupid detox :(
I phoned earlier but I wasn't given an appointment. I spoke to a nurse over the phone, who said it sounds like IBS. So I'm eating loads of fibre this week and am taking tablets that mum kindly went and got me. If it hasn't improved by next week, I have to phone back.

Grrr - it's harder to get an appointment with a doctor these days than to land on the moon; and they wonder why A&E is overcrowded!
That rant out of the way, at least you got to speak to someone who could give you advice. I hope you soon feel very much better and don't have to "bother" the doctor with a phone call!
Just read your mum's reply - what are the chances of getting poked by a doctor these days?!
Good luck Eleanor - some "get well" vibes ~~~~~ ><

The receptionists there are nosey! If they don't think it's serious, they basically tell you to poo off! But I'm glad I at least got through to a nurse.
The chances are always high with me. Every time I'm there, it's POKE POKE POKE - "Does that hurt? No? How about that?"
Thanks! >< >< ><
