Is now one of those people..........

that brag about how wonderful their dog/child is!!

Not sure how it happened probabily around 10 weeks ago when we brought Doug home and he took over the house and our life in the most unexpected way!

Today is a beautiful warm day and at lunch I let Doug in the garden as usual. Now normally he'll go out the door but not any further unless either one of us is either insight ie at the door or actually goes outside with him. Once out he'll happily plod around but never lays down and will follow us if we go back in....but today he was brave!! He went outside on his own right to the grass and proceeded to plop on his side and LAY DOWN for a sun bathe!

It took alot of self control to not go anywhere near him or make a fuss of him but I was so surprised and shocked I had to take pictures whilst hiding behind the wall - I'll post them ASAP!

That's great and a sure sign that he is feeling relaxed and considers himself
safe and at home.

Thats great, he must feel relaxed and safe in his environment. Thats a real step forward and also means you are less likely to get problems with seperation anxiety because he isn't 'clinging' to you.

He developed seperation anxiety afew weeks after we go him but the vet and here gave me great advise on what to do and that seems to have almost disappeared
He still follows me everywhere and I haven't had a shower or been to the toilet on my own in weeks but I guess that's just Doug

Aww, that's great! I'm so glad the separation anxiety has quietened down!

It's great when they feel comfy like that.. our Molly is out on the stoop just soaking up a few ray's.. she loves being outdoors.. Well done doug.

I know what it is like to have a staffy shaped shadow. That's how Teddy worked his way into my life and I don't regret one minute of it.

He is parked down the side of me on the sofa as I write this but these days he happily does his own thing while I am busy during the day. If he wants me to join in he comes and tells me and will grab a trouser leg and try to drag me to where wants me to be.

Showering and going to the loo is no longer a private thing here also

My partner was home early yesterday and he was as surprised as me when he let Doug out and he flopped straight on his back in the sun, he even rang to tell me! Doug stayed like that all evening even followed us out to the front garden and layed in the sun there whilst I did my plants - he didn't even try and run off like he's done in the past - he was one chilled out hot Doug
