Friend for Betty?
I was thinking about reusing another staffy, I had Betty when she was 2, she is my princess and is very she has abandonment issues so she has to be with me everywhere and allways have to show her attention, is there a chance she would get jealous, she is really well behaved and generally has no interest in other dogs.

Re: Friend for Betty?
Most rescues get you to bring your dog in so the dogs can meet and see how they get along. Then you can also look out for signs of jealousy when you give the other dog attention.

Re: Friend for Betty?
As Annie says you will have a chance to introduce Betty to your chosen rescue to see how things go, I hope it works out for you

Can't really add to that. Just make sure introductions are made properly, and when you get the newcomer home make sure that Betty still gets the most fuss!

Re: Friend for Betty?
If you are considering going to a rescue centre they will mostly recommend you take your current dog in with you to meet some possible friends anyway.
This way they can be introduce under controlled conditions with trained staff on hand to deal with any unexpected reactions from both.
They will be able to match you all up to the most suitable dogs there, so give them as much information as you can about your situation and your dogs behaviour.
