UPDATE - Wondering about a staffie

Hi all,

firstly thank you all for your replies on my earlier thread about getting a staffie. The information and help we got on here was invaluable. Now the news - good and bad.

The good nes is after much searching we eventually found a dog today that we have fallen in love with. We went and saw several staffies at the local rescues - and one came extremly close to being adopted. However, (sorry to say and this is perhaps the bad news for the staffie lovers)) we have adopted a young cross breed called Rosie, though we are renaming her Sophie. We collect her on Tuesday, once she has been chipped and vacinated. She was taken into the local pound.

Shes about the size of a whippet, black and tan and about 10 months old.

So sorry for not getting a staffie, we did try, but she broke our hearts. I thought you may all want to know the result of our search.

Absolutely no need to apologise, she is gorgeous. Please stick around with us, any questions please do not hesitate to ask, the members here have many years experience in many different breeds and crosses of dogs. We can all learn something everyday.

Sophie looks gorgeous - no wonder you lost your heart to her

The important thing is that you are giving a home to an otherwise unwanted dog, and one who you have fallen in love with and presumably one who you and the rescue centre believe will fit each other well.

Don't be silly, it's all about finding the right dog for you, even if not a Staff, thanks to you, it's one less dog in a rescue and instead in a loving home please feel free to stick around, this forum isn't simply for Staff owners, but for people who love them.

Caryll, I'm fairly certain she is virually untrained in every aspect, though I also think she will be a quick learner, so I will almost certainly be picking brains about various aspects of training. She was abandoned outside the local Morrisons so little is known about her, but we reckon she is under a year old. She currently does what I believe is submissive weeing (isn't google wonderful, haha), so that is certainly onething we will need to work on!

Anyway, hope every one has a nice weekend, and I'll update you once we get her.
