Dog cage stopped ALL bad behaviour
Hi all,
About 3 weeks ago we bought a dog crate for both the dogs, I was sick of coming home and things being broken every time we walked in the door.
Since they have had the crate ALL of the bad behaviour has stopped, I was coming home to poo/wee on the floor every time we came home.
Now there is no mess of the floor whenever they are left/at night, and they love it so much.
I recommend these things so much!!

Used properly they're worth their weight in gold!
I'd never used one before we got Dempsey, but I'd always use one from now on.

They certainly are a God send when used correctly, I had never used one until me and hubby got Rocky but would definitely use one again.

They're a God send. I dread to think what Dempsey would have gotten up to if we didn't have one!

We got one for Louby and unfortunately she is left most of the day in it while we work, but its cosy, she has her water, kong, and bones etc to keep her occupied. I feel better knowing she is safe, and is not up to mischief. But as soon as we are home she is outta there until bed time.

Can't recommend them highly enough. Never used one before I got Bacchus but am completely converted. He loves his crate.

They are amazing, Logan had bad separation anxiety as a baby, couldn't even be in a room alone for a few seconds without panicing very, very badly.
But after getting him used to his crate he was fine almost immediately. I never closed the door or anything just to extend the thought that it was his space and his choice to be there.

For anyone anxious about using a crate for the first time ( as I was )........ I give Bacchus his Kong with some cooked sweet potato in it every night at bed-time. As soon as he sees me loading the Kong he dives into his crate and sits there waiting for his treat. And that's him until next morning.

Re: Dog cage stopped ALL bad behaviour
I agree, crates are good. The trick is to never use them as punishment. Putting treats in the crate then giving them another treat when they go inside to retrieve the first is a good way to get them thinking happy thoughts about their crate!
Some people dont like the idea of them because they think its cruel, what they dont seem to think about is that dogs are technically den animals. Dogs who dont have a crate usually hide under tables/behind sofas etc.
Like another poster above, I dont lock Peppa in hers.
A good "bed" for dogs seems to be cheap/old duvets. You can get cushion covers to put them in, easy to wash etc, dogs seem to love them (perhaps similar feeling to being up on the bed!) and more importantly, they dont seem to "flatten" like oh so many dog beds do! Not to mention, far far cheaper!
