The 'hello' has stopped being tentative!
Well, we have done it...Maddie came to live with us yesterday. She is doing really well and is trying hard to settle into home life after getting very stressed in kennels over the last few months. She managed to chew on her kong for a bit yesterday evening and actually fell asleep at one point (cue snoring ).
We are trying to walk her a lot so she is too tired to be stressed or naughty.
I'll try to get some pictures soon.

Oh, brilliant! I'm sure she'll settle really well once she realises she isn't going back to kennels again!

Re: The 'hello' has stopped being tentative!
Thanks for the welcome everyone
I am chief walker and Maddie is quite a wriggler so overall I have about 30 photos of a dark blur, a tail, and empty patches of carpet/grass/kitchen floor etc
She is settling really well. She was becoming very het up in kennels and can still take offence at dogs on the horizon...boy can she PULL! She can also walk past dogs with just a look and a wag. We have yet to work out the difference
She is very good at night and very patient when in her crate. At the moment I am in the lounge and Maddie is in the kitchen. Her breakfast was put in a kong, and she had some (she gives up on the kong very easily at the moment) and has gone back into her crate for a nap through choice She has already had a 40 minute walk today.
My legs ache from all this walking though. Explains why you don't see fat staffy owners!

She has been in the room with them and starts off OK. Then she notices them and suddenly there is no distracting the little madam. We have her on a long line and she has already managed to jump onto the sofa (but the line was too short and she fell back off, sorry Maddie). She can sit and destroy her rope toy and ignore the birds for ages, then suddenly, BAM! She is hurtling across the room ready to jump at the cage. It has barely been 48 hours yet so we can't really blame a terrier for being interested in birds.Kat75 wrote: Has she met the birds yet??
