Lumps and bumps Empty Lumps and bumps

Post by agriff Tue May 14 2013, 16:49

Over last few days I have had a night mare blue boy has started getting little bumps under the skin like heives don't look much but makes the fur stand on edge were the little red marks are I have took him o the vets because he had two on his testicles that got inflamed as well .
The vet has given him a course of antibiotics and steroid injection and tablets also told to give him piraton tables which we are giving him ,

Has anyone else had these problems it's been 24 hours and its still showing on him ? Sad

Sounds like an allergy, doesn't it?

Have you tried wiping him down with a damp cloth every time you come in from a walk? That, and the Piriton might help.

I'd avoid the steroid injections if it was me. Sad

Right just gt back from the vets for the third time as his eyes swelled up and had bumps all over and when I got to the vets it wasn't as bad and it turns out that there is a bitch in season and across the road and he is getting so frustrated that is causing this to happen so we have some spray that we spray around the house and his bed and it neutralises the bitches smell omg carnt believe it touch wood he seems fine at the moment I dont want to s

Hmm, not heard of that before - to be so bad they break out in hives.
I'd be sceptical tbh.... Keep some piriton to hand, damp cloth and be ultra aware what he's eating and walking in.
My girl got 2 gnat bites last week - I saw the gnat on her - she had a few bumps appear and was trying to scratch - 2 piritons later and she's fine.

Bottom line - dogs are as bad as kids in the worry steaks lol !

My old boy had this happen a few times when he was younger, we worked out that it happened after we had hoovered the house using a shake and vac type powder to make the carpets smell nice, when we stopped using the powder he never had another problem.

Lumps and bumps Empty Update on blue boys lumps and bumps

Post by agriff Mon Aug 12 2013, 12:39

Blue boy have a really bad time he came up in heives with swollen testicals swollen face really looked a state after lots of trips to the vets he had bloods done for alleges , he spent 3 week on a special diet then they took bloods and the result were any thing that had a ready of 150 or over is a allergy and rice had a reading of 2254 so no wonder he was in a state , he also has a slight allergy to gluten and pinto beans .

So the next question is does any one have any ideas what to feed him as most foods have rice ,
