advice please.
OK so I left tia for approximately one hour a few days ago and when I came home she had ripped up half my kitchen laminate flooring I was not a happy bunny as I don't have the money to go out and get new flooring (only been in my new house since October, she's also done the corner of my bedroom floor, chewed my new carpet! And to top it off she is now going around an peeing anywhere and everywhere, she done one straight in front of me on the carpet, then a few hours later (even with regular toilet trips outside) she goes straight onto her NEW bed and does a wee on it. This is really not tia, totally out of character! Never in her life she has ever chewed a thing in my house. And the peeing is definitely not her, been toilet trained at an early Age. My friend was house sitting while I popped to the doctors and she said tia worked her self up so much when I left, didn't sit still, crying at the door, walking around crying. Is this why she done the kitchen floor? Because I left her? She's never done it before though only if I've left a rubbish bag in the kitchen and forgotten to take of out then shed rip that up, but never physically ripped or chewed furniture or flooring in her case. I was going to order a cage but just really didn't fancy keeping her in one when I need to pop out, but then I don't want to come home to a wrecked house. Help please!

Re: advice please.
I would def recommend a crate for her! Its really a great thing and Gwen even enjoys her crate now! Safer for tia too if she is chewing things, she could swallow something harmful! As long as you introduce the crate the right way she will grow to love it and until she can be trusted it can be a safe place for her while you are out of the house!

Re: advice please.
It does sound like seperation anxiety as well as possibly teenage behaviour. Is she left alone frequently and thus used to it. If not do so gradually increasing the time. Also a good walk before you leave will help as well as bitter aple or vicks for things you don't want chewed.

It sounds like she's missing you, I'd do as jstaff suggests and build up the time she's left from 5 mins then lengthen the time, we did his with darcy and now we can leave her for up to 3 hours without any problems. She does have crate which she's had since she came to us, so maybe you could think about that, but as with everything you would need to introduce it gently
She could also be pushing the boundaries too, you could go back to basics, we've used bitter apple spray on things we don't want chewed. good luck

Re: advice please.
Sounds like she has separation anxiety. And also sounds like she's entered the teenage phase. I used a crate with Loki to stop this happening when we were out (though we use it now mostly to stop him being tempted to be naughty, plus it's somewhere for him to settle). I'd recommend them, but you have to introduce it to her properly, making it comfy and put a nice toy and treat in there, and don't shut the door until she's comfortable being in there. Then you slowly build up the time you leave her in it for. That said, if it is separation anxiety, you could work on it without the need of a crate, by doing the same thing, gradually increasing the time she's left alone.
Also, don't make a fuss before you leave. Don't say bye or give her any attention, because she'll know something is happening. Just leave (as hard as that is), and when you come back, ignore her for a minute or two.

Re: advice please.
I guys she's been in a cage when she was a pup but peed and pooed in it all the time I had to chuck blankets it was that bad. I've done the whole time thing. I'd start off by popping to the shop (right opposite my house) and gradually do it longer. But she's gone worse, I went out for my sons birthday and we was 4 hours, came back to no accidents or anything ripped up. So she can be good. Just this fire times she's being a little madam. I will try again with the crate and will get some stuff to put on places. Thanks for the advice guys

It really does sound like some separation anxiety there by her, try the crate again, do you leave a radio on in the background for her when you go out, not too loud see if you can find a talky station Radio 4 may help there ? this may help too.
