hey everyone I'm new to all this :) read how i got my staffie

hi my names jess

i rescued my stuffy 2 years ago from a kennels i worked in. She was severely beaten underweight and had cigarette burns to her head she also suffered from nervous aggression towards people. ill tell you how it all stated it was just a normal day at work when the dog warden turned up saying he had two on the van and that ild need my pole for one of them so i grabbed my pole and headed to the van when he opened the door there she was shaking and i just melted but she was growling so i put her on the pole she jumped out spinning and screaming and i said everyone just step back i took the pole off picked her up and carried her to the kennel block sat with her to calm her down. i went to the reception to sign her in on the charts to see that my boss was not very impressed with her actions and told e she will not be put up for adoption because shes a danger to the public also he said she was whats known as a pbt type! and my heart sunk. that night i spoke to my mum about her and we agreed that there was no way she was being pts she needed my help and i gave it to her it took me a month to earn her trust and of 02/05/2011 i took her home i went into wok the next day to face my boss and he went mad and told me that when she kills someone not to go running to him. i knew she would never ever bite anyone! i was doing my usual work when the van turned up to take the dogs that failed assessment ( i hate this part ) so i loaded up the van and he said theres just one more and read me out the number and it was her he had came to take her to be pts the day after i took her home! i told him that she had gone and walked off. i soon left the kennels after that and me and Carly are inseparable. She is living proof that any dog no matter what there past deserves a chance and i know she would take a bullet for me and ild take one for her too xx ill put a pic up of her as soon as i work out how???

I'm pleased to hear that someone looked beyond the bad stories and rumours about SBT's (and PBT's) and took pity on such a sad face.
I was like that too - I have a photo of me when I had just arrived in the Kennels aged 12 months.....I was underweight as you can see from the size of my head compared to my body.....I'm happy now though and I'm pleased to see you are too!
