Long line DISASTER Empty Long line DISASTER

Post by Mandz Sun May 05 2013, 11:01

So I'm happily walking frankie on his long line, we've both been loving it! We're in the park playing with his ball. So I'm throwing it and then chasing frankie when he goes to get it. Until.... I under estimated 1, how far I could throw the ball and 2, how fast I could run, I'm sure you've now guessed what's coming!!!!
I threw the ball and frankie ran much quicker than me, so the line went tight and I flew up in the air and ended up greeting the ground by skidding on my face. And of course frankie just wants to get to his ball!! It all happened so quick I didn't get chance to let go. All I could do was sit on the floor laughing. Thank god nobody saw me!!!!!! So I've now got a cut face, what looks like a black eye coming and grazed knees!!!! And to top it off we come home and frankies sick again.
I'm so glad my OH wasn't there or he would still be there laughing. Every time I think of it I keep laughing!!! Please tell me I'm not the only one who has had a disaster????

Yep , I was using one on Tommy the other week , at the end of our walk near some trees (going steeply downhill) had the end in my hand , said the S word (Squirrels ) to the pair of them and off they shot , jees a staffy can accelerate well over a 50ft start Laughing , end of the line comes and I'm ready (no I wasn't) I am stumbling like an idiot for another 30ft to then fall in a heap and have 2 stupid excited dogs jumping all over me and Tommy biting my ears Laughing

Happens to us all. I underestimated how strong Loki was and he pulled, I went flying head-first into the grass (this was when it was icy and freezing and rock-hard). Not so fun Laughing

Not fallen over but Densil nearly dragged me in some bushes once and he got wound up around the branches and I had to untangle him and pull him out. Your dog looks just like my Densil and he loves to sit in the window just like that - I thought it was him when I first saw the picture!

Yep.... we've had similar experiences... mainly involving Rolo playing ball, running round behind me excited...I don't realise and next thing I know, the long line has wiped my leg out from under me. We've mastered the splits... next is a double salchow Laughing

Hope Frankie is feeling better soon >Big Grin<

It's not just me then!!! The things we do for the pooches! I've just popped back from work to check on him, no more sickness but very lethargic. Gonna cook him some chicken and rice later and see how that goes.

rolling on the floor I can picture it. I once pretended to throw a ball and Blue ran off then I giggled to myself turned 180 degrees and threw the ball which put my in the line of fire, he ran straight threw the back of my legs and sent me flying Laughing Same here no one around to see.

I have nearly gone on my bottom before now haha, they can tangle you up very quickly or pull you over... I let Otis' trail generally but still have to watch in case it's tangled around me Laughing
