He's So Weird With His Fish
Bought Loki another couple of fish today. I have far too much money and far too little responsibility, because I spend so much on him from now on, he's only getting sardines, none of these giant, heavy, expensive fish. Anyway, as you can see, he was freaked out by it like he was with the first sardine. What a wimp. Apparently I'll have this 10 minute foolishness every time he eats something new. I did have a good laugh at him though, and before I recorded, he whacked the fish on the floor a couple of times, which I thought was hilarious because I'm evil . By the way, after he'd finished eating, he ran into the living room and licked my brother's mouth. That's ma boy

Awww Loki and his fish, he's so funny, love how he was just licking it at first!! Cute
I can't imagine what Daisy would do if I gave her a whole fish.....I'll have to add it to the growing list of things for her to try!!

I can't remember the name of it, it begins with a G. They didn't have sardines so I decided to get him this one, it's quite a bit bigger. He has a hard life, Loki does

After seeing you're first video I got frankie some sardines. I gave him the first one and he looked at me like I'd gone completely mad and refused to eat! After trying to tempt him to eat it he wouldn't go anywhere near it!!! He just kept looking at me like mum why isn't it cooked?! They are funny

Silly Frankie at least you tried. Some dogs wolf their food down, some dogs are weirdos that need persuasion like Loki, and some just...won't go near it. They're funny sometimes

Is it ok to give the dog a whole fish? What about bones and stuff? Can it be all fish or just certain types?

Yep, whole fish, bones and everything I think I read that a certain kind of salmon has parasites, so I wouldn't give salmon, but others are OK. I give Loki sardines mostly.

He loves it eventually, but it takes him forever to eat the first one because he's unsure of what it is . I'd been given him tinned sardines and mackerel in tomato sauce added to his food now and again for months, but I only recently tried him with whole, raw fish. You can do it any age though, really

Re: He's So Weird With His Fish
It looks like a Gurnard to me. It's great to see him enjoying his fish now. But to take care to look at the fish you buy him. Gurnard do have large sharp barbs on the fins and they could cause a nasty problem. Maybe a good idea to cut off the sharp barbs in future.. although he did seem to manage it ok. If you look back you can see the large spike as he gets closer to the head.
