Weird..

Axl never barks, whines or anything really unless he's talking to me first thing in the morning when he growls and does a little "uff" bark, more like a cough lol anyway just recently he's started to whine a little bit.

He jumped up on me last night, hung himself over the back of the sofa, and did a little kind of gruff and whine, just as he looked around at me. I'm a bit worried because its unlike him. He doesn't appear to be ill, he's eating, drinking, his toilet is fine and he's fine in himself, or so it would seem. Shortly after he whined at me he jumped down and started chasing his bone around the front room. Does anyone else's staffy do random whines or should I be worried? I thought maybe he's bored but he's usually walked twice during week days for 45 minutes to an hour. He settled down after playing with his bone for about 10 mins and went to sleep.

I should mention that my OH works nights as from about 4 weeks ago, could this be why he's whining as he's a bit unsettled?

He could be missing you're OH I'd keep an eye on it if everything else is normal I'd tend to think he's ok health wise. The change in routine could be the reason. Darcy whines when she wants to play with her whip but usually by the door where it's kept and just now she came and snuggled next to me and I was stroking her ear as she nodded off, I stopped and she did a little carry on whine

Thanks Hayley, I'll keep an eye on it but I really don't think its health. I'm thinking it might be his routine change, he did stare at the front door then he turned to me and whined.. I dunno, I wish I could talk Staffie sometimes lol

Darcy sounds adorable I love it when they nod off on you so cute!

Ah If only we could take to them, it would make things so much easier. We do worry lots don't we, She's a snuggle bum, she's as close to me as she could possibly get, anymore and I'd be suffercated squidged right up to me.

Since my OH has been working if he doesn't get in at precisely 3.30am Axl will worry, he wakes me up by sitting on me and licking my face which is cute, I have to tell him its okay and daddy will be back soon and he snuggles into my neck and goes back to sleep he's such a little worry wart which makes me think this is all because his routine is upset bless him

Aww bless. Poor little man is missing his daddy hopefully he'll settle soon enough

Maybe he was a bit unsettled because of the fireworks?

sash will whine at us when she wants to play and we are not paying attention to her  

Vinnie also whines when no one is taking any notice of him, perhaps just needed a bit of attention cause Dads not there.  

Frosty cries for me all the time. Didn't do it at first, but he just hates separation. 1 year old, things are still changing and bonds are still getting stronger. I wouldn't worry about it.

I'm getting the feeling it might be an attention thing and I think he's unsettled with the change of routine, no whining last night Although he did sit on me and lick my face at 3am this morning
