Re: flight with dogs
Most airlines will require them to have a health certificate 10 days or less prior to the flight. The best way is to either call the airline you are going to use or visit their website

Re: flight with dogs
All I could find when I contemplated flying on holiday was that they would travel in the hold , as J says you really are best to phone the airline best and they will advise you , likelihood of dog being in the cabin with you is 0 I think unless you have a very very small dog so the carrier would go under your seat in front

Yes, phone whichever airline you'll be using & ask them what's required.
One thing I do know is that you'll need a specific size of hard crate (the closed in, travel kind) plus, of course, their pet passports with certain things up to date as jstaff says.

I would agree and contact the airline you will be traveling with, also may be worth dropping an email to the link below, I haven't tried them personally though :

Re: flight with dogs
Some airlines won't fly the bull breeds at all because of their short snouts and having difficulty breathing pressurized air from the cargo hold. Most of them won't fly them during the summer months either because of the heat.

Is it not an option for you to drive ?? assuming max is fully papered and pet passport , injections , evrything you would need to go to spain etc then your route through france would be guaranteed trouble free ??
