Drama Queen strikes again
Last night I got home to find that the dogs had torn up a bunch of shrubs I was going to plant. I did let out some disappointed comments to the sky (was more upset with myself) but nothing too severe and tried to save them by putting them in the ground.
Well, we came home from dinner later and found the shrubs gone again and Emmy was no where to be found. Once in the house we found her hiding in the couch cushions, completely guilty and upset. The look on her face torn me up and I didn’t say a word about the shrubs just a friendly greeting to her. She avoided me all night, but would sit on her dad’s lap pouting and moaning, as if to say “please tell mom I’m sorry and to not be mad at me”. Which I wasn’t.
I felt so bad. I actually started to think I was a bad mom for planting something she might want to tear up and putting her in that situation. I really don’t think I do anything wrong, she never gets even yelled at, it’s all positive with her. But she has a way of turning the situation back on me. I feel like such a sucker. Sneaky little girl. Smart too. We call her our little drama queen.
I have never had such a sensitive dog in my life, is this typical? Does anyone else go through this?

When i come in from leaving the dogs before i look around any corners from letting them i say what you done or whats that, if i get a look of guilt i know i got mess to clean up lol. The smartest dogs are the ones that can look guilty.

When Jethro was a puppy he used to do heaps of 'gardening' and none of our shrubs were safe. One time we had a glorious banksia bush just starting to flower.. came home.. it was in about 10 pieces scattered across the lawn. (if I remember rightly Tony was so angry Jethro did get a wallop for it ... though he wouldn't have known what it was for! But Tony said it made him feel better! ) Poor Jethro ..( mind you he probably didn't even feel it !! )

We've just been away for a few days + my sister looked after our dogs. When we came back, Boris completely blanked me + was all over hubby like a rash !!! I'm only the one who feeds/walks/picks poo up/ everything else
Won't be going away without them again in a hurry
If Tilly gets a ticking off, she takes herself off up to bed to sulk + won't come down for anything, so yes all the 'lil buggaz can make you feel guilty

Re: Drama Queen strikes again
I have found that molly has started tryin to "test" me in the guilt department. Jake knows that when he comes in he waits in the hall till paws are cleaned so he doesnt get a mess on any floors etc, well this Molly has just strolled right by,totally blanking me and jumping up on my bed. As soon as she is given into trouble the big sad eyes come out and the look of guilt, makes me feel awful, considering i rescued her the look is like "how can you shout at me when you are to help me". God she's good, poor Jake looks at me like "how the hell does she get away with it and i dont".
Talk about teach an old dog new tricks, this one has been here before!!!

Wonderful story....
Piggy chewed through next doors newly planted Honeysuckle.... I didn't say a word as I didn't catch her in the act.... I think it's best to tell them off if you actually catch them at it.....they know when you're using that stern voice...

I lost a honeysuckle just last week, but after the rose bush hahaha I would love to tell them off if I could catch them, I swear one of them stands guard and gives warning. They can be so cat like and sneaky!
PS..... JB, Piggy and you all are in my thoughts almost daily, hope your days are getting easier. We call Fritz Piggy too.

im so glad i came accross this post. I have taught clyde to 'sit', 'paw' and 'heel'. I have been trying to work on 'down' for him to lye down and 'stay' but when i use these words, he gets so upset, like he has just been givin into trouble. I havent got a clue why these words make him upset. I was starting to think he goes into these moods just for a cuddle. lol
