Greedy staffies
hi all, just your thoughts about this does anyone else go through this, Tilly has always been a fast eater. I have brought a bowl thats helps slows them down, not that you would notice with Tilly lol. she is kibble fed with bones now and again, as thought this would slow her down depending what bone, the pig trotters did work but other bone she tries to gulp and ends up gagging.

Re: Greedy staffies
You could also try stuffing her food in a Kong they are great for slowing down the eating time. They can also be frozen to make it even more of a challenge.

Re: Greedy staffies
I can vouch for the kong. Vinny was a guzzler and this helped to slow him down.

Re: Greedy staffies
Frankies a guzzle guts too. Until he was about 8 months old he would rather not eat for a week than eat dog food but now he's the complete opposite. As already said the Kongs are good, it really slows frankie down.

Re: Greedy staffies
Darcy was a guzzle guts when she was younger not so much now, I've actually started using the kong to encourage her to eat

Re: Greedy staffies
Loki sometimes eats his food really quickly, and sometimes he doesn't. I don't do anything to stop it now because he's learnt to slow down just enough to not choke but agree with putting his food in his Kong.

The kong works great. A tennis ball or something similiar in the bowl can also work. It also helps if you have the bowl raised slightly off of the floor
