Pup Not Very Greedy Empty Pup Not Very Greedy

Walter is not very greedy. He loves his food, eats all his wet food but biscuits he just has a few and wanders off and goes back for more when he's ready. This is what my other dog does too. So, I put two bowls of biscuits down and they both are very casual about it.

While I'm very pleased, I'm also very surprised as my previous two staffies would eat a bowl of bricks flat out if I fed it to them, lol...

Anyone else got a dog that is casual about their dry food?

I'm not a fan of free grazing for dogs. You can't regulate their food if needs be, and giving meds with food can be tricky.

I had a stafford years ago that regularly refused to eat - he was a great weight & never seemed to suffer because of it, so I just used to pick up anything he didn't want & give it next meal/throw it away.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Luckily they are eaten within an hour or two... it's just not a race like I'm used to... lol...

The wet food is gobbled in one sitting, thankfully.

I still wouldn't leave it down. What's not eaten in five minutes gets picked up in this house!

Cool. I'm happy with how it is at my house. I don't want them fretting or fighting over food like it's in short supply.

I quite like the way they are acting around food right now.

Both sit nicely to wait, then the older dog gets hers and the younger dog sits until his bowl is put down and he gets his. Nicely mannered and calm.

I'm sure it is, I'm not doubting you in any way.

But if your dog isn't eating he either doesn't like the food or he isn't hungry, in which case it should be picked up. But if you're happy with what's happening, that's fine   Smile
