Re: coats
We had a waxed coat specially made for Bandit (cost a fortune at the time), but we gave the wrong measurements & although he wore it, it was always too big!
So, when Dempsey needed a shower proof coat we dug Bandit's one out. It fit beautifully, but is now straining at its limit! But it's served us well, considering.

Re: coats
it's supposed to be getting warmer, Summer's coming, maybe wait till next year, as they grow so quick and he is only 5 1/2 months, next winter it won't fit him.

Re: coats
Molly has a thick hoody and a waterproof over coat, £10 for the two of them from our local pet shop. She hates wearing them, but they calm her down when we have people over! Well worth it for a tenner.

Re: coats
Yes, Dempsey also has a hoody. His is fleece & is now just a little too small so I'll have to get another one next autumn.

Re: coats
has anyone tried one of these http://www.doorsteppaws.co.uk/html/thundershirt.html -or are they an expensive folly more interested in the calming down than thunder fear -no way i'm going to be outdoors in the thunder -unless they do human size too.

Re: coats
Jethro, being the spoilt brat that he is , haha.. is shown here in his Winnie The Pooh pyjamas that he wears in winter. He also has a vast variety of outdoor coats. I love buying things for him! ( this coat was only $4 off ebay! )

Re: coats
haha.. thanks for that. Tony reckons Jethro looks embarrassed !! He hates extremes in the weather as do all staffys I think, and he runs to me in winter to get his coats on, so he must like them !

Here's Saxon's new coat:
As for the Thundershirt, it works well on fear and anxiety, I'm not sure how it works for excitement.

Re: coats
Doesn't Saxon just look adorable in his new coat !!
The thundershirt is fascinating.. I read about them on the internet. Do they really work?? Jethro has been anxious all his life.... don't know if it's worth getting him one now. Rescue remedy drops seem to be working on him....
Your Saxon makes the most charming model !!

Re: coats
Thanks, Saxon is quite charming!!
My trainer/behaviorist friend says that she's tried the Thundershirt and it works well. Their site explains how they work: http://www.thundershirt.com/ They aren't super expensive and have a guarantee, so it's worth a shot!
