Thornit ear powder is widely used for the treatment of ear mites, which causes itchy sore ears that is characterised by black ear gunk.

Once diagnosed by a vet i would recommend thornit as a gentle but usually effective treatment rather then using harsh chemicals

Widely available on ebay, amazon etc...

Thornit's very good - used to be called Canker Powder I think, and it's been around for many years!
