Gentleman Jim was the first champion of the breed, and my old Bandit's ancestor!
At the time he was described as bull-doggy. Nowadays he'd be classed as middle of the road!

Is this out of the book you reccomended yesterday? I find them really hard to read but interesting as I haven't a clue on peds and bloodline etc.

Yes, it's the same book. This one, though, isn't hard going - it's really easy read, full of information, but in layman's language! Lots of stunning pics, too!

Just goes to show just how close they all are, really. If you saw him in real life, you'de probably see that he's much smaller than an American Bulldog. It doesn't help with the cropped ears (yuk!).
