Post neutering advice
Hi
We had Alfie neutered yesterday (would have done so anyway, but it was a condition of the adoption from the rescue place as well).
The vet said to keep him calm and sedate for two days, with no walks, I understand why this is good advice but I am not sure how I can do it?
I have took him for a gentle stroll round the field on his lead as he was going absolutely mad but he is still bouncy now. I have put him in his crate with lots of chew toys but he is biting the bars and whining.
Does anyone have any advice? Should I leave him mostly in his crate for two days and ignore him? As soon as he comes out of it he starts bouncing about (as normal)
Any ideas?
Thanks

Re: Post neutering advice
When I had frankie neutered I had the same problem. In the end I jus tried to confine him to one room and just had lots of cuddles. It was pointless trying to keep him in his crate because he would of hurt himself trying to get out. Maybe try a few gentle 10 minute walks to keep his mind busy? I wouldn't worry too much aslong as he's not bounding around the park playing. Maybe stuff a kong or something to keep him occupied?
Good luck!
Good luck!

Mental games and training will tire him out. Here's a link to help

As jstaff says, the only thing you can do is to tire his brain!
Before you know it, you'll be able to start exercising him again, though, so it shouldn't be for long!

Ok thanks, will try the games. He has fallen asleep now which is a relief, I am going to try to creep out if the room without him noticing so I can get some things done
