Sleeping on bed
First topic message reminder :
Hi, we have had our adopted Staffy for a month now and he always slept in a crate. I've been letting him sleep on the bed. My Mum says I should stop, but if I have no problem with it is it OK

Same, Moo wasn't allowed on the sofa or bed when I first got her, now I wouldn't have it any other way

Re: Sleeping on bed
Lola has always slept with me in my bed. To start with she is by my feet when I watch tele, then she moves up to my neck and snuggles my ear, then during the night she manages to get under the quilt and plonks her bum on my leg.
I did try her in a plastic oval large bed once by the side of my bed, but I felt awful because she couldn't stretch out, but she didn't actually mind, it was me that did, so back on the bed she came.
Once when she was real small she lay on my left ear all night and all the next day I was deaf in one ear, it cleared thankfully.

Re: Sleeping on bed
They do like to be comfy!!! Max,s grandparents visited yesterday for his birthday. Dillon kept wanted his seat back where Grandad was sat! They kept saying you shouldnt let him up, daren't mention the bed. Max's auntie said same. They obviously don't realise Staffys are special and love to be by their human. If were alright we it and it's our home, then I think that's what counts. If Max (son) is asleep on sofa Dillon will cuddle upto him and vice versa! Max says:

It's the cuddles that make it all worthwhile, though, isn't it? They're so loving!

Re: Sleeping on bed
Saxon isn't aloud on the bed, but he is aloud on the couch. So we snuggle on the couch. He sleeps in his crate, though, and probably always will. It's just safer for him and our things.
He is a good cuddler, though!

Staffy Cuddles
Staffy cuddles are the best. I only knew of the stereotypical Staff until I researching when I had the opportunity to adopt Dillon. On rescue sites they stated "typical Staffy loves cuddling on the sofa". I'm so glad we took him, right now he's asleep on my feet. Then he'll follow me to bed, he's definately a mummy's boy!

Can't beat a staffy snuggle! My sofa for one would be empty

Yes, but as he can't see himself it doesn't matter! Why should he care? He's comfortable & getting a fuss..........heaven!

Re: Sleeping on bed
There is NO WAY Vinnie would entertain sleeping anywhere other than IN bed with me. I've tried to shut the bedroom door so he stays in the hallway but he has actually whined all night and scratched the door so badly I've had to give in. I must admit though I do like Staffie snuggles. Good job I don't have another half eh!!

Re: Sleeping on bed
I know I really should as his little spikey hairs get everywhere. Also, as I live in a bungalow, he's straight in from the garden and on the bed...muddy paws, grrr! How do I start training him to stop whinging and scratching at the door?

Re: Sleeping on bed
Good thinking. I've got one on the kitchen where he goes when I go out so I could use that. Prob end up going with the throw idea though! Cheers

Re: Sleeping on bed
Ledger usually sleeps on my bed every now and then tho he chooses to stay downstairs in his bed or on the sofa. Guess I'm lucky that he curls up really small and as the night goes on he snuggles into whatever nook my body has lay in. If he goes up to bed before me tho he pulls back the covers enough for him to snuggle into with his head on the pillow usually pinching my side but he always looks so 'look mom I've warmed the bed for you'
