Rocky's Insurance with Argos
We have recently made a claim on Rocky's insurance due to his cut paw, the vets forwarded the claim form to Argos Insurance which was received by them on 28th March "13. The form was assessed on 7th April "13 and I received a cheque yesterday (10th April "13).
So cannot really fault them for speed of delivery, however just a shame the cheque is for the incorrect amount . We popped into the vets yesterday to see about this and the appropriate person is not in this week, so will be expecting a phone call from them sometime next week.

Re: Rocky's Insurance with Argos
Is it much different? Have they given you a breakdown of anything they feel isn't covered by the insurance?

Re: Rocky's Insurance with Argos
There's about £80 difference, I have taken into account the excess too, no I dont have a breakdown of things covered/not.
Hubby has emailed Argos to ask if we should bank this cheque until it is sorted, then they can just forward a cheque for the difference but no reply yet.

I'd phone them - insurance companies often don't answer emails.

It's OK, just had a reply from them saying to pay in the cheque we have and the remained will be sent once invoices are received from the vets.

Re: Rocky's Insurance with Argos
Popped into the vets yesterday to see what was happening about this again. Apparently the cheque was for the wrong amount because a couple of receipts had been left off the claim form.
Vets are to get the outstanding amount filled on another claim form and will send it to us for completion, can then get it sent off to the insurance company. Will not have to pay another excess fee.

Re: Rocky's Insurance with Argos
pleased you are getting it sorted Kathy but like Janey says , my insurance went direct with the vet when I had a claim for Tilly , the only issue I had was the first trip was to an emergency vet on a Sunday and they would not deal with the insurance company so paid them and claimed it back but my vet handled all of the claim for me even the emergency vet to help me with the paperwork

Received the final cheque today for Rockys claim, not bad for an insurance company I only sent the form to them last week.

When we took Dempsey to the emergency vet they were great - they took the excess off us, but then made a direct claim from the insurance company. We then transferred Dempsey to our own vets on the monday & they also did a direct claim. We only paid the one excess.

That's pretty good service!

Yes it was good service, I was very surprised yesterday when hubby said the cheque was here
Thankfully I only paid the one excess charge too which was £65.00 not too bad really considering the whole claim came to over £240.00.
All sorted now
As for Argos Pet Insurance I can now say that I would recommend them as they paid out very quickly with no quibbles and they have a very simple claim form to complete.

Re: Rocky's Insurance with Argos
I think the reason the emergency vet did a direct claim for us was that their bill alone came to nearly £1000! No way could I have paid that up front!
