Good Idea, or No?
I have Loki on the long line all the time now, but it's getting a bit awkward. I don't feel comfortable letting it trail because the fields are going to be busy what with the weather getting better and the days getting longer. Anyway, I was thinking of getting one of those belt/harness things you can get for people that go running with their dogs, a shock-absorbing lead and then attaching that to his long line. That way he can run around and I can feel safe knowing the lead is attached to me so he won't get the chance to evade me if someone comes into view. Or does it sound like too much or unnecessary?

Re: Good Idea, or No?
I have seen people running with them and thought if it was Logan the person would end up trailing along behind on their face. He has my shoulder near broke atm from a bit of over excited play yesterday.
But if you think it would be ok with him they do look a lot handier.

I guess there's only way to find out really, give it a go and see how you get on with it.

Re: Good Idea, or No?
i bought a tracking line on saturday and took my bruno to a country trail with his long line, and i was just cautious i let it go for around 3 meters if i couldnt see that far ahead and then longer if neccesersary,
he seemed to love this as he had his freedom although he doesnt seem to go to far from me as it is.
i only used the whole line (50ft) im open field areas were i new he was safe and away from other dogs,
but it did work a treat it was mainly other people with there dogs not on leads that concered me more

Re: Good Idea, or No?
I have a dog walking belt that i walk them and go running with them
I do use it for putting chance's long lead on and it works well

Oh good, glad to know it works well maybe I'll find it unnecessary, but think I'm gonna try it. That way he'll be more able to play with me and run around because I won't be as focused on looking out for people and dogs. Thanks everyone
