What a great morning
This morning I took Caley on a playdate with her staffy friend Khloe. As you know Caley's recall is improving slowly so this was a great test for her. We went to the field and there was childrens football going on, quite a few people around.
I started by keeping hold of her 10 metre lead and she came to me everytime I called her, she showed no interest in anything else around her only running around with her mate. I got brave and let the lead go, still kept aware of everything going on and was in reach to grab the lead at all times, she never cared. Even during her being in the middle of play fight with Khloe if I called her she stopped and came running back to me...I AM BEYOND PROUD.
The next best thing that happened was my friend got both dogs to sit, then lay down and stay, she walked a distance from them and both of them never moved until she called them...when we turned around we realised we had an audience watching us and watching how good and well behaved our two beautiful staffies were. One lady even asked if her 3 year old boy could say hello, both dogs were so good and the boy asked to throw the ball for them, they both sat and waited for the boy to do this. The other people watching all had grins on their faces when they left. This is the best Caley has ever been. As you can probably tell I am rather chuffed.
I now have extremely tired Caley fast asleep on the sofa.
I have a really good video of us in the park, once I figure out how to get it off my phone I will post it.
