trip to the vets
tyke went in today for his yearly boosters. We are very lucky that the vets we use is second to none on treatment and how they treat you. my family used them for years and every were i see they have fab write ups. they are not over expensive and mr richmond actually does this for the love of animals It also has a handy walk in clinic aswell, they run 9-10am then again 6-8om monday to friday which comes in very handy.
Any way, as you can imagine with the walk in you meet everyone else waiting, tyke had a field day, saw a very very over weight staff tyke looked anorexic compared to him, a 5 month old staff who had had a bad reaction and looked all poofy face bless her and then the oldest staff i have ever seen, was sad to see him i did recommend us about
we also met a jack russel X who did not like tyke and the feeling was mutual, never ever seen tyke behave like he did it was shocking to watch
Anyways, tyke is doing well with weight loss, still got a way to go but we are on the correct path. We asked about his leg and off course the weight may be a factor and its a little 'grindy' she recommended yumove so i have that on order, we on strict on lead walking now, no off lead walking to see how its heals. She explained she didnt want to do tests untill weight has dropped and to see if its a reoccurring problem. i also asked about raw diet, she not a fan got all the constipation and bowls etc etc which her opinion. asked what foods she recommended and again liked her response, they do not push any certain foods apart from 'brown and boring is good'
she said all in all tyke looks well apart from the extra weight good teeth and happy
Also some will be glad to know we back in two weeks for worm and flea...........but he also get chipped

Sounds very good. My friends Stafford is on Yumove after Janey advised it when I joined the forum. And I give it to Logan too, even though he is fine I think glucosamine is a good thing for them to take.

Re: trip to the vets
I've been using it since the day after I joined the forum. Obviously it hasn't made any difference to Logan but may help him in later life. But it made a big difference to my friend's stafford

Re: trip to the vets
For yumove you give 4 a day for the 1/2 weeks then down to 2 for life
You'll get him there, I cut out all treats with Moo, and I mean everything, worked a treat but you have to be strict Xx

Re: trip to the vets
Pleased to read that Tyke is doing well with the diet. I'm sure you will get there and with us now going into the better weather (well in theory at least) and the clocks changing at the weekend we can all look forward to those long summer days and lovely walks.
