new kitten!
Hi all, my nans cat has had kitten and I've got one, tia is way to excited and bouncy to introtuce them properly, she has had a sniff of gizmo but is so excited! Anyone for any tips coz I really want them to get a bond n get on, and are staffs genuinely good with cats or? For you that don't know tia she is 6months old and kit is 9 weeks. And how will I sort tonight out with sleeping arrangements? Tia is either in my room or on the landing. Where do I put gizzy? :/

Re: new kitten!
Logan is great with cats, there's a big blue long haired cat that sits at my front door and Logan will walk past it without even turning his head to look at it.
Best way is to introduce gradually over a couple of times. First few times on lead then as behaviour improves give more freedom.
Always a good idea to have somewhere where the cat can go to get away. Maybe a baby gate etc. Chances are the cat will actually upset Tia rather than vice versa. I've always found it's easier to get a dog and cat to get along than two dogs haha.

Re: new kitten!
We brought Bacchus into a our home which is already occupied by 3 cats ( 2 siamese and a mog ). Bacchus is keen to be friends but the cats are remaining aloof. There is no animosity now apart from him getting an occasional swat when he gets too close. If he annoys the cats too much we just tell him to leave and he does so. You will find that the kitten will just head for somewhere a bit higher and out of reach when it's had enough but always supervise just in case things get too boisterous.
With Tia being a pup and Gizmo being a kitten they will soon find common ground and settle down. Young animals adapt very quickly. I've had cats and dogs living together all my life and never had a problem.

By the looks of your pics they're really hitting it off! I'd love a kitten but I think the OH would go mad!

Yeah cats do that. They don't take any s**t from pups.

Re: new kitten!
i was actually considering getting a kitten as a friend for butkus, we just dont have the space for another dog, and i thought a cat would fill the void a bit when we arent in, so ill be watching this thread
